Made to Measure
A day with Nassau Tailors at Gogetti.
Some things can't be taken off the rail. They have to be made.
For one day, our store became a tailor's room. Together with Nassau Tailors, we invited our clients to have their own pieces made to measure. By appointment, one at a time, with all the time it takes.
The tables were covered in cloth. Wool, cashmere and fine cottons from Loro Piana and Zegna, from mills that have spent generations perfecting one thing. Shirts, jackets, trousers and knitwear, each starting the same way: a hand on the fabric, then a choice.
Then the work began. Shoulders measured, lengths pinned, a sleeve taken in by half a centimetre. How a jacket should fall. How a trouser should break. How a collar should sit when it's worn open. Small decisions that only matter to the man who wears them. That is exactly why they matter.
Tailoring sits at the heart of Gogetti. Made to measure takes it one step further. Not a size, but a person. His posture, his habits, the way he moves through a day.
In a few weeks, those pieces come home. Some will be worn to dinner, some to work, some to occasions that haven't happened yet.
Made once. Worn for years.
Thank you to Nassau Tailors, and to everyone who took the time.
Until the next one.
Gogetti and Nassau.
